As written in my previous post, Maya Bay is very popular because of the Hollywood movie “The Beach” and thus very crowded. The view is stunning, it’s just difficult to enjoy it with having so many tourists and boats around. The good news is, there is an early bird tour which starts at 6.00 am. I didn’t opt in for that because I’m not an early bird. But I do think that it is worth the effort as most boats arrive from 8.00 am onwards (Maya Bay is only accessible by boat). Regarding taking nice pictures, it is better to take them a bit later in the day as in the early morning most of Maya Bay is covered by the shade of the surrounding limestone hills.
